Many of the challenges that lead to delays and disagreements that cost projects money is hazard recognition. Where are the risks in construction, and why has what we’ve done for years now a safety problem?
Attendees will learn how to look at any situation and recognize safe and unsafe situations whether or not a Cal/OSHA regulation is being violated. Cal/OSHA is designed to prevent fatalities and serious injuries, but hazard recognition is what not only controls regulatory violations, it also controls injury exposure and costs that frequently exceed any fine.
Attendees will take away the following:
• Recognize and identify hazards pertinent to their company's situations
• How to address/resolve hazards and exposures
• Actions to take to prevent injury
• Understanding that safe way is cost-effectiveness of the job through pre-planning
This class will cover topics that include hazards for the following, but are not limited to: scaffolding, ladders, boom lift scissor lift, electrical, plumbing, traffic collision potential, fire hazards, working alone, fall exposures, and many other items pertain and common to construction hazards and exposures. This class is a must for anyone who is responsible for, manages or coordinates safety for their company.

Instructor—Eric Andersen
Eric has a diverse background in the field of environmental, health and safety. Eric has been responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the company complies with all federal, state and local safety laws. This required Eric to become familiar with all aspects company’s concepts, practices, and procedures to achieve their safety goals. Eric is a certified IVES Master trainer, allowing him to provide safety certification training for most pieces of equipment, and an Authorized OSHA Instructor for Construction
